Curtis Schurkamp, 36, of Escalon, California, passed away on June 14, 2023. His unexpected loss has left his family and friends that knew him deeply saddened.

Curtis was born August 7, 1986 to Joseph and Dao Schurkamp in Tracy, California. Curtis attended Escalon High School and was passionate about wrestling. After graduating high school Curtis pursued his wrestling career at both Fullerton State University and San Francisco State University where he became a 2X NCAA All-American.

Curtis was the youngest of six children and was a very family-oriented man. He treasured the time that he got to spend with them in the outdoors, camping and fishing. His goal was to provide the best life for his son Raeden and wife Whitney, as they meant more to him than anything else. Everyone that had the pleasure to spend time with Curtis knows the amount of joy he brought into this world.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Whitney; son, Raeden; parents Joseph and Dao; sisters, Bonnie and Rosie; brothers, Billy, Max and Tommy and many nieces and nephews.

Curtis was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. His presence will be sorely missed, and his loss is deeply felt.

A Celebration of Life was held June 26, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Escalon Community Center.

The family is in the process of creating a scholarship in memory of Curtis and a college fund for Raeden. Details are currently being solidified and will be announced shortly. In Lieu of flowers please consider donating to one of these once established.
