Dale Gentry, 61, passed away at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House on April 8, 2009.

Born in Stockton on May 15, 1947, Mr. Gentry retired from Gallo Glass after 25 years. A Vietnam Army veteran, he worked for Norris Industries in 1967, in which he made and shot his own ammunition while stationed in Vietnam. He also worked many years at Lucky Stores, Beacon gas stations in Escalon and Williams, AZ. An avid outdoorsman, who loved to fish and hunt, he was a member of the Escalon Historical Society and the Modesto Horseless Carriage Club.

Survivors include his wife of 22½ years, Linda; his five children, Matthew Gentry of Escalon, Paula Gentry-Mann of Reno, Sandie and DeDe of Arizona and son Jessie of California; grandchildren, Sierra, Anthony and Shane Gentry of Reno, Katlyn of Oakdale and numerous grandchildren of Arizona; brother, Lee Gentry of Escalon and sister Karen Coleman of Washington; niece, Jenny Robinson and nephew Adam Smith both of Washington; niece and nephew, Jennifer and Andy Schmidt of Escalon; great niece and nephew, Gavin and Jessica Robinson of Washington.

Visitation was at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon on Monday, April 13 with a graveside service at Burwood Cemetery on Tuesday, April 14.
