DANIEL MARK SWASS

Daniel Mark Swass, of Escalon, passed away on January 10, 2025 at the age of 72.

Dan was the son of Mark and Evelyn Swass. Born and raised in Escalon, CA, Dan grew up enjoying sports, the outdoors, and community life. As a child, he was an exceptional athlete, excelling in football, baseball, and swimming. Dan attended school in Escalon and graduated from Escalon High School. He held the Escalon High School butterfly stroke record for decades and spent his free time fly fishing along the 108 near Dardanelle.

Dan was a truck driver who traveled across the country, embracing the independence and adventure of life on the road.

Dan lived life on his own terms, embodying resilience, independence, and a love for simplicity. While quiet and reserved around strangers, he opened up to loved ones with stories, humor, and a laugh that brought genuine joy. He was steadfast in his beliefs and deeply valued his family all in his own ways.

Dan is survived by his three sons: Ryan and his wife Gina, Zachary and his wife Angela, Tyrell and his wife Regan. He also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren: Addie, Frankie, Sawyer, and Ozzy and another grandbaby on the way.

Viewing will be Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon, with the funeral following on Jan. 21 from 11 a.m. to noon at the chapel.
