Dovie Louetta Murken, 90, peacefully passed away, August 17, 2024, in Escalon.
Louetta was born, September 8, 1933, to parents Alva and Thelma Farris in Calvin, Oklahoma. She was an Escalon resident for 74 years and made many friends along the way. Louetta was employed with the Escalon Post Office for 35 years before her retirement, as well as volunteering for the police department for 15 years.
Louetta had a passion for the outdoors and camping, she was an excellent trap shooter and won numerous trophies. She also enjoyed going on cruises to Alaska and even traveled to Germany twice to visit relatives. Louetta will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Louetta is survived by her loving companion of 20 years, Jay McCready; her children Walter Murken (Debbie) of Escalon and Martin Murken of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Vonda Haffer of Escalon, Trevor Jones of Los Gatos, Alexandra Murken of Georgetown, DE, Cassie Murken of Cornelia, CA, and Austin Murken of Escalon, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Steve Farris of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Douglas Farris, and Utah Farris.
Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Murken family. A graveside service will be held, Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 E. River Road, Escalon, CA 95320.
