Edward Neil Dixon, 81, died Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Vintage Faire Nursing & Rehab in Modesto.
A native of Vanoss, Oklahoma, he had lived in Escalon for 54 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked as a bus driver for Escalon Unified School District and River School in Ripon. He was a member of Assembly of God Church, was a past ambulance driver and past Escalon Police reserve officer. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Rita and Gene Langum of Escalon, Diana and Lonnie Myers of Vancouver, Washington; siblings, Paul Dixon of Wellington, Nevada, Modean Rogers of Merced and Mary Thiel of Chowchilla; grandchildren, Jason and Dor Myers of Martinez and Sean Langum of Escalon; great grandchildren Jessica and Nathan Myers of Martinez.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Dixon, in April, 2004.
Visitation was Saturday morning, Nov. 6 at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon, with the funeral service following at noon at Burwood Cemetery. Interment was at Burwood.
