Edward B. Gowan, 76, of Escalon died Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Norman, Oklahoma, he had lived in Escalon for 33 years. He was a yard foreman.
He worked for American Lumber Company in Modesto for 25 years, was a member of Teamster's Retirees Group, the Ceres 50+ Club, and the Old Fishermen's Club. He was an almond grower and served in the U.S. Air Force, being a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Gowan of Escalon; children, William Gowan and Keith Gowan, both of Modesto; brothers, B.M. (Mutt) Gowan of Ceres and Roy Gowan of Clear Lake; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Private services. No public visitation. Burial at Ceres Memorial Park.
