George Van Weerdhuizen, 82, died Wednesday, Oct. 5.
He was born April 7, 1929 in Modesto and lived for the remainder of his life in the Ripon, Modesto and Escalon areas. He was a self employed dairyman and cattle hauler.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Van Weerdhuizen; their three children Linda (Larry) Swier, Sandy (Mike) Sutton and Lester Van Weerdhuizen; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Amelia Lynch Harbert of Oakland; and one stepbrother, John Karnstra of Modesto.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Suzie Van Weerdhuizen Karnstra.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Escalon Christian Reformed Church, 2203 California St., Escalon.
Memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.
