Jerry Harper, 85, passed away February 25, 2021 in Modesto, California. Jerry was born February 24, 1936 to James and Gwendoline Sullivan in Butte, Montana.
For those of you who haven’t had the blessing of knowing Jerry, first and foremost she was a child of God. Blessed with a loving husband and five sons that loved her like no other. She loved to teach, she loved to share, and she loved to interact. Where there was darkness, she brought light. A life well lived by a true child of God.
Jerry is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James; her children, Jim (Frances) Harper of Sacramento, Jack (Cathy) Harper of Manteca, Joe (Nancy) Harper of Livermore, Chris (Nini) Harper of Livermore and Mike (Lilly) Harper of Modesto; grandchildren, Tim Harper of Manteca, Paul Troxell of Manteca, Becky Phelps of Ripon, Kimberly Earls of Manteca, Katlin Bruce of Winston, North Carolina, Danielle Harper of Willows, Dillon Harper of Livermore, six great-grandchildren and her siblings; Georgine Sheldon of Centennial, Colorado and Kathie McManamon of Tucson, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents; James and Gwendoline and sister, Shirley Hastie.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Escalon Covenant Church, 1155 Escalon Ave., Escalon, CA 95320. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation at alz.org.
