Jerry Edward Morgan, 61, died suddenly at his home in Hornbrook on Thursday, Dec. 13.
He was born in Livermore on Nov. 3, 1946 to Erman and Phyllis Morgan. He moved to Hornbrook from Escalon three months ago.
Mr. Morgan was very active in Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.
He worked for 30 years as a welder with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He coached youth football for eight years and loved spending time with his kids and his mother. He was a long-time member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and loved hunting and fishing and his dog, Roxy.
Survivors include his wife, Sammy Morgan of Escalon; three children, Tess Marie Morgan, Zachary Boyd Morgan and Joel Michael Morgan, all of Escalon; mother, Phyllis Morgan of Hornbrook; sister, Sherry Tillery of Hickman; two nephews, Matt and Pat Barr and many friends and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of his life was held Dec. 18 at the R-Ranch in Hornbrook.
Remembrances may be made to a charity of choice.
