Jerry Roger Wood, 53, of Escalon died Monday, March 8, at Oak Valley Hospital.
Mr. Wood was a native of Palo Alto. He lived in Alameda County for over 45 years prior to moving to Escalon five years ago. He worked as a carpet installer for 30 years, last working at Don's Carpet. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed motorcycle racing and bowling. He was also a musician, music promoter and master negotiator.
He is survived by his wife, Michaele J. Wood of Escalon; children, Gary Wood of Castro Valley, Michael L. Wood of Maryland, Paula Chavez-Wilson of Livermore, and Juan Chavez of Medford, Oregon; sister, Donna Wood-Gimbel of Hayward; brothers, David N. Wood of Hayward, and Donald G. Wood of Benicia; mother and step-father, Bobbie Jo and Eliut Hernandez of Hayward; father, Donald W. Wood of Redding; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday, March 14 at the residence of Roxanne Catalono and Gerald Valerga in Stockton.
