Jesse Matthew Wright was born in Athens, Greece on October 20, 1960. He passed away after a short illness on December 14. Jesse’s parents, Jean and Quentin, now deceased, brought their family to Escalon in 1976 from Reedley, CA. Jesse graduated from Escalon High, where he ran track and played trumpet in the band, and enjoyed living in the Escalon and Farmington area for the remainder of his life.

Over the years, Jesse worked at Franzia Winery, cared for his family’s farm, and worked as caretaker at St. Patrick’s Church. Jesse was a treehouse builder extraordinaire and friend to all animals and living things. He could make any engine run and loved a good drive. He was a gentle soul with a wonderful laugh.

Jesse is survived by his siblings David, Lucy, Jason, and Thomas, and he will be greatly missed. A graveside memorial service will be held at Burwood Cemetery, in Escalon, on January 14, at 1:30 p.m.
