John Anthony Poole, 32, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013.
He was born on Oct. 18, 1981 in Modesto, California, to Michael and Susan Poole.
He grew up in Escalon all his life and went to the local schools then on to Modesto Junior College and Heald Business School to become a paralegal.
He loved his little brother Jake, playing guitar, reading, baseball, music, cooking, going to concerts, and certain games on Play Station 3.
His family was graced with his life almost 11 more years after a car accident in 2003 that left him paralyzed from the waist down. During this time he taught them to have patience, show your love often, and live life to the fullest. His greatest accomplishment was studying Judaism and he almost finished converting to Jewish religion. Unfortunately he had to undergo many health problems from the accident, which he was recovering from when he passed away.
Survivors include his parents, Michael and Susan; brother Jake; his grandparents, Louise Poole of Manteca and Wallace and Joyce Fannin of Escalon; many aunts, uncles and cousins; many friends, and classmates.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clinton Poole, who passed away five weeks ago; and a younger cousin Clint, who died seven years ago.
He will always be remembered as the comedian, trash talker when playing football, and a good listener.
A private graveside funeral was held on Friday, Nov. 8 at Park View Cemetery in Manteca. His service was led by Rabbi Andra Greenwald.
