Larry Allen Swanson peacefully passed away in the presence of his loving family on September 16, 2024, in Modesto, California. Larry was born January 29, 1938, to parents William and Alma Swanson. After graduating high school, Larry enlisted in the Marine Corps serving two years for our great nation. After being Honorably Discharged from the Military, Larry started a dairy. In1962, Larry married the love of his life, Agatha Van Konynenburg, and together they had four children and a wonderful life together.

In 1975, Larry bought a hardware store from the Strand Bros., and worked there until 2020. Larry enjoyed the simple things in life which included fishing and going on his houseboat at Lake Don Pedro, golfing, and being part of a poker league. He was a member of the Lion’s Club, President of the Chamber of Commerce, and the American Legion Post #263. Larry had great accomplishments in life, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Agatha Swanson; his children, Jeff Swanson, Eric Swanson, Chris Swanson, and Kari Swanson. Grandchildren include, Jared, Jessica, Jason, Erica, Dirk, Kayla, Krystal and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lois Gordon. Larry is preceded in death by his brothers, William, and Robert Swanson.

Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Swanson family. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 27, 2024, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the Escalon Community Center. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the American Legion Post #263.
