Linda Stuart Managhan, 87, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023, in North Bay Medical Center, Fairfield, CA.
Linda was born December 13, 1935, in Fort Bragg, CA, the only child of Stuart and Marian (Simms) Tregoning. She spent her early years on the family sheep ranch and dairy and later moved to the California Central Valley. She graduated from Escalon High School, attended Modesto Jr. College, and earned her BA in Home Economics from Sacramento State University.
In 1956 she married M. Earl Maben, eventually settling in Fairfield where she raised three daughters. She remained in Solano County for 58 years.
After divorcing her first husband, she returned to the work force and held various secretarial positions, eventually retiring from the Vacaville Unified School District after many years of service with the School Psychologist Dept.
She was married to USAF Maj. Wilson L. Managhan from 1978 until his passing in 2008.
Linda was a skilled homemaker, talented seamstress, and prolific knitter. She loved reading, swimming, and vacations in Hawaii. The last seven years of her life she was a resident of Cornerstone Assisted Living in Vacaville where she enjoyed socializing with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest daughter, Laurie. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Jackie Maben and Marc Roque of Fairfield; daughter Jennie Logan of Antelope, CA; stepdaughters Cheri (Mark) Simko of Folsom, CA and Sandy (Jeff) Miguel of Sacramento, CA; granddaughters Susie, Sherry, and Sandy Logan of Sacramento, CA; grandson Garret Morano of Gulfport, MS; grandchildren Crystal and Ryan Simko.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, September 24, at Anderson Family Catering event space located at 1286 Callen St., Vacaville, CA. RSVP to Jackie Maben (707-373-1313). Internment will be private at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon, CA.
