MARIE THERESE SATOOR
Satoor 3-5

Marie Therese Satoor, 100, of Escalon died Friday, February 7, 2025, at Vienna Nursing Home in Lodi, California.

A native of Bengaluru (Bangalore), India, Marie lived in Escalon, California with her family for 55 years. Before moving to Escalon, she served as an Indian Army Drill Sergeant in her native country and, after leaving the Army, worked for The Imperial Tobacco Company in Bengaluru, India before resigning to find a new home in the United States with her young family.

Upon moving to Escalon in 1969 with her husband, Donald Satoor, and two young daughters, Sandra and Veronice, she found employment at E.J. Gallo Wines in Modesto and then at Hogan Mfg., Inc. in Escalon where she retired at the age of 69.

The Satoors became U.S. citizens in 1975.

After retirement, not one to rest, Marie volunteered at the Escalon Public Library since she was an avid reader. She also enjoyed babysitting her darling granddaughter, Farley Moore, visiting with friends from around the world, taking care of her garden and solving crossword puzzles.

Marie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her one and only grandchild, Farley Moore, was the love of her life. Marie—always thinking ahead—wrote a letter to her daughters titled “Journey to the Land of Promise, United States of America, America the Beautiful” in which she recounted how she and her husband Donald met and detailed their plans for the future.

Survivors include Marie’s children, Sandra Satoor-Moore and son-in-law Robert of Escalon, Veronice Satoor of Stockton; and granddaughter Farley Moore of San Jose. Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Satoor who passed in 2005.

There will be no visitation. Private interment.

Rosary will be held on March 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s Church located on 19399 Highway 120, Ripon, CA 95366. Mass will be held immediately after at 10:30 a.m.
