Milga Buehlmann passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2024. She was born October 22, 1937 in Holtville, CA to parents John and Frieda Hofer. The family moved to Escalon in 1941 and settled on Lone Tree Road. She attended Four Tree grammar school and graduated from Escalon High School.

The family operated a hay baling business of which Milga was an active member, driving the tractor at a very young age. Milga married Johann Buehlmann on February 1, 1964 and her two children, Hans and Milga, soon followed. She was a proud homemaker and especially enjoyed gardening. Milga was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club, where she enjoyed dancing to traditional Swiss music with her husband. Milga relished her trips to Switzerland where she visited with her many relatives and enjoyed the beauty of the Swiss mountains and countryside.

She is survived by her husband Johann of 60 years, son Hans (Alex), daughter Milga, and grandson Johann, all of San Francisco, as well as her sister Frieda Schleiss and nieces. Rosary will be June 26 at 10 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ripon. Reception will follow at the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club in Ripon.
