NORMA TERESA MARCHESIN obit

Norma Teresa Marchesin, our beloved sister, aunt and cousin to two generations of family, passed away on her mother’s birthday, December 19, 2024 in San Mateo, where she was born 90 years ago to Luigi and Erma DaDalt. She leaves behind sisters Janet Smith and Linda Romano (Gary), sister-in-law Silvana DaDalt, niece Karin Brumley (Thom), nephew Daren DaDalt (Dawn), niece Jennifer Lewis, cousin Joe Bachetto, (Darlene), nephews Robert Sabatini (Bonnie) and Julian Sabatini (Valerie) along with several great-nieces and great-nephews and two great-great-nieces. Norma joins her parents, husband John, brothers Luigi and John.

Norma was born on August 15, 1934. Her family moved from San Mateo to Sunol then to Escalon. Norma was a hard-working woman. She worked on the family dairy, then worked at the local drugstore before she moved back to San Mateo to start a new life. She worked at the post office at the San Francisco Airport, then married John and her life started a world of travel to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, London, and Italy, our parents homeland. She was a lover of sports. She coached girls softball at St. Matthew Catholic Church in San Mateo, played golf and was on a bowling league. She was an officer to the Sons of Italy Columbus Lodge. She loved playing Pedro and her gambling trips. Norma always told it like it was and she would always be there for you if you needed her. Her memory will live forever with us.

We are celebrating Norma on January 10, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church in San Mateo. Reception to follow at the Peninsula Italian American Social Club, also in San Mateo. In lieu of flowers, Norma would rather have donations to your favorite charity.
