Norman "Slick" Roche, 81, died Friday, Dec. 23 after a brief stay at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House.
He was born on April 25, 1930 to Robert and Ethel Roche in Corcoran, California.
As a young man, Slick joined the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. After leaving the service, he became a welder. He was a long standing member of the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union, local #442. Slick enjoyed sports and was a team roper and a member of the PRCA.
Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Mary Roche; sister Lucille McKeon; daughter Kim Clarot; sons Tyler and Danny Roche; his step-children Kim Rheinor, Sondra Neal and Dennis Bennett; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
The family will be having a celebration of his life on Saturday Jan. 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Escalon Sportsman's Club.
