YOLANDA VESIA
April 19, 1927 – Sept. 19, 2018
VESIA.JPG

Yolanda was born April 19, 1927 to Vito Nicola and Elvira Vesia. She was a proud graduate of the Escalon School System. She enjoyed theatre, dance and sports, serving as a yell leader for her beloved Cougars.

Yolanda was a devoted Mother to her only daughter, Celeste. She was a loving sister to Angelina (Norm) Greer, Grace (Joe) Italia, Victor Vesia, Patricia (Albert) Jerome, Barbara Jean Vesia, Lorraine (Jim) Rose, and Margaret (Ron) Cox, and a beloved auntie to her many adoring nieces and nephews.

Her favorite title was that of Grandma to Leslie Ann Gomes and Alan (Jenny) Gomes, whom she loved very much.

She encouraged Celeste to become involved in local sports teams.

And as a loyal fan, she could be found sitting in the bleachers, during each and every game, cheering for her team with a beautiful smile.

She loved horse racing and professional baseball. She was an avid San Francisco Giants fan.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Vito and Elvira Vesia, as well as sisters Angelina, Grace, Barbara Jean and Lorraine and her brother Victor, her brothers-in-law, Norman, Joe, Albert, and Jim.

She called Escalon home for the majority of her life. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s cemetery, Escalon, CA on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11 a.m., with a celebration of life following at Escalon Sportsman’s Club.

The family wishes a special thank you to Karryn Salonen for her kindness and compassion during this trying time. We extend our highest level of love and gratitude to Dr. Darius Naraghi; words can never express the value he added to Yolanda’s final days and to those of us who love her.
