Act now for a better future

Dear Editor,

Why is it that humanity doesn’t care enough about whether or not our planet is dying? For it gives us all things in life that we need to survive. If we don’t take care of our planet, how do we as humans expect it to take care of us?

Global warming is a big problem in the world today. Over periods of time, there has been drastic changes in the difference of temperature, especially during the summer. Humans contribute a big majority of fault to these changes. Our planet provides us with water, food, nature and natural resources. These are some of the many general principles that are the key to life on this earth, and we are taking it for granted.

We poison our air, pollute our water, and harm mother nature. It affects our atmosphere creating hash environments for everyone around the world. Another thing that it takes effect on is both our oceans and freshwater. The rise in temperature is life threatening in places where there is scarce drinking water and even droughts. Forests are losing trees to random fires being started. This leads to the loss of homes for animals, and the loss of clean air for the atmosphere. This is something that is not benefiting the planet nor life on earth.

There are many solutions to these problems, but not enough people contribute to helping the well-being and health of the planet. We can do this by spreading the word and donating to the programs that help make a difference in bettering the planet and have the whole community grow. We as a whole society can really make a difference in what we do to slow the process of climate change.

Sincerely,

Lisa Murga

Address the pollution problem

Dear Editor,

Pollution has become a very serious problem in the world today. Pollution highly affects the quality of the air that we breathe, which can cause our health to be at risk. This isn’t a good thing for people who already have existing health or breathing issues. It doesn’t only affect us, but our crops and other organisms as well, causing them to die off or have less of survival with no way of saving them.

It is very easy for us, as humans, to avoid or limit the use of things that cause pollution. We can recycle and reuse, use less plastic, drive your car less, turn off your engine when it’s not in use, use less energy, and turn your lights off when they are not in use. Some of these things we don’t realize we are doing, but it’s important that we put the care of ourselves and the earth first, and take action.
