Traveling to the Hughson Supercross on Saturday, Oct 19, it was a fun yet eye-opening experience for the Escalon High School cross country runners.

“The kids had a good time at the unique race that was four kilometers and included a mud pit and a couple of hay bale obstacles,” said head coach Arend Jones.

At the varsity level, Calan Crumbley was first across the line for the Escalon boys in 15:57 and Victoria Calderon paced the girls with a time of 19:04.

In the frosh/soph races, it was Alex Girardi running a 15:55 for the boys, Brooklynn Sparacino completing the course in 19:56.

The JV races saw Christian T. Cruz lead the boys by running a 19:40 and Charlotte Shaddix pacing the girls on the course for Escalon with a 21:25.

“The next competition is Wednesday, Oct. 30,” said Jones. “That will be the TVL Finals up in Sonora, which will also be Senior Night.”
