Hosting Modesto Christian on Thursday, the Lady Cougar golfers came up with a solid effort and defeated the visitors by a 171-179 verdict to win their third league match of the season.
"Claire Brumley shot her best round of the season with a 37," said coach Stan Maggard. "Shannon Krein had a 43."
Newcomer Brittany Reichmuth, who has been with the team for just the past couple of matches, carded a 44.
"I don't know where she's been," Maggard said, noting that he's glad she is available for the team now.
Annie Nickerson rounded out the Escalon effort on Thursday with a 47.
"We had four nice scores there, this was one of our better matches at home," said Maggard. "It was a very good match for Claire, she played very well."
Conditions were good as well, with the host Lady Cougars playing just a few strokes better than Modesto Christian for the league win.
On Tuesday, the girls were at the par 37 Dryden course to face off with Central Catholic.
