After a break for the holiday period, bowlers were back on the lanes in the Thursday morning El Portal bowling league at McHenry Bowl in Modesto.

Recent action saw Escalon Body & Frame and Memorial Splitting Headaches tying for the top spot at 34½-25½.

They were followed by Dutch Girls and Bartelink Dairy, 33-27; U-3, 31-29; Farm Girls, 29-31; Foxy Ladies, 26-34; Tupperware, 18-42.

Leaders for the week were Ruth Sonke, 180 scratch game and 501 scratch series, Erlene Price 230 handicap game and 637 handicap series.

For the season to date, leaders are Sonke, individual high average 159.15 and scratch game 233; Chris Magana 722 handicap series; Barbara Webb 280 handicap game; Kelly Homen 522 scratch series.
