Dutch Girls took the championship for the El Portal Bowling League, coming out on top in a roll off with Memorial Splitting Headaches for the title in the Thursday morning league.
Susy DeKok, Val Van Unen and Ruth Sonke made up the winning team, while DeKok also won high average and scratch series honors for the season. Her scratch series was 546 and her individual high average was 152.61 for the season.
Second place honors went to Memorial Splitting Headaches team members Chris Magana, Suzanne Pater and Ali Hill. Other honors included Hill with the high scratch game, 212, for the season.
Jeanne Brand had the high handicap series for the season, 682; while Elaine McGuire and Delores Borba tied for the high handicap game, 261.
“We are donating $1,800 to El Portal Middle School for science camp,” said league secretary Janice Alcantor. “Thank you to all our bowlers for making this possible. Please join us next year on Sept. 4 for our new season.”
