July ushers in card of MMA competition
559

The regional 559 Fights 106 organization will kick off summertime with four MMA title fights headlining on Friday, July 12 at the Visalia Convention Center.

“We are coming off a record-setting attendance event in May and looking forward to setting another attendance mark for our summer shows,” Jeremy Luchau, CEO of 559 Fights said. “Our attendance has really spiked over the years and we are looking like one of the premier events in Central California for entertainment.”

In the main event, Madera’s Abraham Del Toro (5-1) will make his third defense of his 559 Fights and CAMO State Lightweight Championships as he takes on Porterville’s Joey Sandoval (3-0).

“Del Toro is creeping into that ‘special’ realm,” Luchau said. “There have only been a few fighters to ever win three CAMO state titles, I can only think of one here locally, and that was Andrew Chatman.”

For the co-main event, Tracy’s Ramon Cornejo (8-2) looks to finish his story in the featherweight division as he takes on Weston Quiroz (6-2) of Agoura Hills for the 559 Fights and CAMO State Featherweight Championship.

“Quiroz brings a wealth of experience and is a promotional champion down in So Cal at Up Next,” Luchau said. “Meanwhile, Cornejo has been one of the most consistent and winning featherweights in Northern California. This is truly a battle of two of the top featherweights in the state.”

The 559 Fights and CAMO State Cruiserweight Championship will also be on the line, with former champion Kyle Mask (5-1) of Madera taking on Kyle Clark (5-1) of Antioch.

“Once again, two of the best in California will clash,” Luchau said. “Big shout out to Mask, who continues to step up on big occasions. And let’s not forget about Madera Martial Arts, they have two fighters competing for promotional and state championships.”

In the feature bout, former 559 Fights Bantamweight Champion Jose Aguiniga of Coalinga will look to make his return to the flyweight division where he will put his 4-1 record on the line against Parlier’s George Burgos (3-2) for the 559 Fights Flyweight Championship.
